Geography

Australia has mostly low plateau with deserts and in southest there is fertile plain. The climate is generally arid to semiarid, temperate in south and east and tropical in north. The lowest geographical point is Lake Eyre (9500km^2), while the highest one is the Kosciuszko mountain (2,229m). The majority cities are Sydney with 4429 million inhabitans, Melbourne with 3853 million, Brisbane with 1,97 million, Perth with 1599 million and Canberra, the capital, with 384,000 million. The longerest river is the Murray, 2508 km long. The fauna is characterized by particular species: the platypus, the kangaroo, the koala and many others birds. Australians fauna has four types of vegetation: the bush, the mallee, the mulga and the scrub.
